Tempo connects to HubSpot as your system of record. Once connected, deals, companies, and contacts sync into Tempo, and every call, email, and decision your team makes gets tied back to the deal it belongs to. HubSpot connects once for your whole organization. An org admin authorizes the connection, and everyone in the organization works from it — individual users don’t connect their own HubSpot accounts.
Not using HubSpot? Tempo also connects to Salesforce, or you can import a CSV of your opportunities.

Connecting HubSpot

An org admin connects HubSpot from the Connections page in Tempo settings. Click Connect next to HubSpot and authorize access to your HubSpot account.

What syncs

Tempo reads your HubSpot object and property definitions, then syncs the records your team works: Your properties come across with HubSpot’s naming, so filters and field references use keys like dealtype, lifecyclestage, and jobtitle. See Fields and CRM objects for how to inspect what’s tracked, and automation filters for using them in an automation.

Meetings

Meetings associated with a synced deal come across automatically, alongside any meetings Tempo already sees from Google Calendar. Each one carries its timing and attendees, plus a join link when the meeting has one. Tempo reads the meeting record itself. It does not ingest call recordings or transcripts from HubSpot — for those, connect Gong, Fathom, or Granola.

What Tempo can access

Tempo requests the following access to your HubSpot account: Sales email access is optional. The rest is required for the integration to function.

What Tempo does with this access

  • Query and sync property definitions for deals, companies, and contacts
  • Sync the deals your team selects during onboarding, plus their related companies and contacts
  • Associate calls, emails, meetings, and documents with the right deal
  • Update properties on existing HubSpot records, with citations back to the source artifact

How writes to HubSpot work

Tempo updates existing HubSpot records. It does not create new deals, companies, or contacts in HubSpot — that’s true in every update mode. Whether an update reaches HubSpot automatically depends on the update mode set on each field:
Fields set to Automatic are written to HubSpot with no human in the loop. Check which of your fields use Automatic before you describe Tempo’s write behavior in a security or governance review. See Fields and CRM objects for how update modes are set and who can change them.

Not ready to connect?

If you can’t get HubSpot connected yet, you can import a CSV of your deals and connect HubSpot later without losing anything.
