What it changes
Once approved sources exist, they show up throughout Deal Brain:- Strategy answers reference your methodology rather than generic sales advice
- Stage and qualification questions answer from your actual stage criteria
- Competitive questions answer from your positioning, not the model’s guess
- Drafts follow your voice and messaging guidance
Where to find it
Playbook has two surfaces, and both reach the same sources.- Web app — click Playbook in the left sidebar to open
/app/dashboard/playbook. The Overview tab groups your sources by domain, each domain showing its description and the sources assigned to it. Each source shows its title, source filename, and the date it was added. Click Upload Artifacts, top right, to add sources as files. There’s also an Artifacts tab. - MCP — add, tag, approve, and maintain sources in plain language from a connected AI platform. MCP accepts pasted text only, so files go through the web app.
Sources
A playbook source is a piece of org knowledge, tagged so Deal Brain knows how to use it. Each source has:- A perspective — what kind of document this is
- One or more domains — what subject areas it covers
- An approval state — nothing is used until an admin approves it
Perspectives
competitor_reference and competitor_self_description are deliberately separate. Your battlecard and a competitor’s own marketing are different kinds of evidence, and Deal Brain weighs them differently.
Domains
There are six domains, and a source can cover more than one. The Overview tab in the web app groups your sources by domain.Approval
Sources are not used until they’re approved.
Editing a source’s content or metadata clears its approval and restarts processing. This is deliberate — an approved source can’t be quietly swapped for different content.
The synthesized sales process
Once you have an approvedsales_process source, Deal Brain synthesizes an organization-wide process overview covering methodology, stage criteria, qualification, CRM policy, operating policy, and messaging guidance.
Your team can then ask process questions directly:
